Coach Richard Butt was inducted along with the rest of the class of 2023. He was Lakeland's first boys basketball coach after consolidation in 1964-65. He coached Lakeland for 9 seasons compiling a record of 117-82, and winning sectional titles in '65, '68, and '70. Prior to Lakeland he coached at Liberty Center for 5 years. After leaving Lakeland, he coached at Leo for 23 years. He earned a career coaching record of 429-281. He is also a member of Lakeland's Athletic Hall of Fame.
