Lakeland has had another great Academic team season and qualified two teams for the State Finals on May 10th at Purdue. The English Team of Laney Wilson, Alayna Rasler, and Hanna Yoder advanced, with coaches Brittany Cowley and James Purkey.
The Math team, despite scoring 24 out of 25 at the All-Area meet, missed qualifying due to the tiebreaker system. The Science & Fine Arts team missed qualifying by 1 question.
For the season, the Fine Arts Team was the overall winner at all three individual meets. The Science and Math teams were the overall winners at two of the three meets, including the 20-team Bishop Dwenger meet, which featured Homestead, FW Luers, FW Snider, Carroll, Dwenger, and Manchester.
Due to the overall excellent scores by all the teams, Lakeland also qualified as an Interdisciplinary (ID) team, which combines all of the subjects. Competing at Purdue on the ID team will be Kaylee Yoder, Laney Wilson, Hanna Yoder, Ethan Marchand, Noah Tropp, Emma Parrish & Lydia Jacobson.
