Lakeland FFA week kicked off with a flurry of activities aimed at engaging both the community and the organization's young members. The week began with an exclusive bonfire event on Monday night, attended solely by the members.
On Tuesday, the FFA members visited the Lakeland Primary School to make pizzas with the students, using the opportunity to educate them about the origins and sources of various ingredients.
On Wednesday morning, teacher appreciation was the focus, with members arriving early to prepare and serve breakfast to the school staff.
Thursday marked the highlight of the week with McDonaldβs Farm Day, held at the LaGrange County Fairgrounds. First graders were invited to have a hands-on learning experience with animals, where they could interact with and learn about various farm animals. Additionally, other agriculture-based learning stations were set up for the children to make dirt pudding, soybean seed necklaces, and interact with a combine tractor.
The weekβs events concluded on Friday with a teacher appreciation lunch, prepared by the FFA members as a token of gratitude for the educators' hard work throughout the year.
The grand finale of the week was the annual Community Breakfast on Saturday. The FFA chapter opened its doors to the community, serving breakfast and raising funds through donations. This event provided a valuable opportunity for the chapter to connect with the community and garner support.
FFA week proved to be an excellent platform for members to engage with the community, showcase their dedication, and foster valuable connections in agriculture.
