Once again this summer, we're partnering with Parkview Sports Medicine to offer summer lifting sessions at Lakeland with Parkview-certified strength coaches. This program incorporates speed and agility training, injury prevention, and traditional weightlifting. It's a great asset and a great value to our students. Last year, we had 85 students participate in this program during the summer, and I aim to reach 100 this year!
A full schedule and information sheet are attached. Here are some highlights:
Runs June 2nd through July 24th (excludes moratorium weeks).
Open to all athletes in 6th through 12th grade for the upcoming school year.
Athletes can attend ANY session. However, they are encouraged to
lift w
ith their teams at the recommended times on the attached schedule. (Athletes should enter the school at Door 10.)
Junior High students can attend ANY session. However, the 11-12 session on Tuesdays and Thursdays is explicitly designed for them. All
workouts are age and ability-appropriate so that they will be SAFE for younger students.
Moratorium Weeks with no school activities are June 30 - July 6 and July 28 - August 3. These are great weeks for family activities and vacations! The first day of fall practice will be August 4th.
