LaGrange Parks

Lakeland Intermediate School 4th graders recently enjoyed an exciting visit from the LaGrange County Department of Parks and Recreation, turning science and history into hands-on learning.

During the interactive presentation, students discovered how glaciers shaped Indiana’s landscape thousands of years ago. They examined different types of rocks found throughout the state and gained a new appreciation for the natural forces that have influenced Indiana’s geography.

The highlight of the day came when students participated in an engaging activity that allowed them to experience life as geese in an ever-shrinking pond. This fun exercise taught valuable lessons about habitat, survival, and the challenges animals face in changing environments.

Through activities like these, students not only learned about Indiana’s past but also deepened their understanding of the environment around them.

We’re grateful to the LaGrange County Department of Parks and Recreation for bringing learning to life and inspiring our Lakers to explore the world with curiosity!
