The Lakeland High School Girls Volleyball team has made history, capturing the first Regional Championship title in school history this past weekend. The Lady Lakers swept the Jimtown Jimmies to secure the win, marking a monumental moment for the program and the Lakeland community.
Under the leadership of Head Coach Stephanie Dunkel, the team demonstrated determination, teamwork, and resilience throughout the season—culminating in this record-breaking achievement. The victory not only reflects the dedication of the players and coaches but also the unwavering support from families, fans, and the entire Lakeland community.
“This is such a special moment for our girls and for Lakeland athletics,” said Ryan Yoder, Athletic Director. “They’ve worked so hard to build this program, and to see it pay off with the first regional title in school history is truly incredible.”
The team will now advance to the Semi-State competition, continuing their postseason dominance —where they have not lost a set —and aiming to add another chapter to their historic run!
During Monday’s pep session honoring the team, Senior Captain Anna Rasler shared her excitement: “Celebrating with our team and holding the trophy after this win feels incredible. Last year, we left regionals without it, so this victory makes it even more special!”
