Lakeland School Corporation is proud to announce that its graduation rate for the Class of 2024 has reached a historic 95.2%. This milestone marks a significant achievement for the district, positioning Lakeland as a leader in academic excellence and student success within the state of Indiana.
The 2024 graduation rate represents a remarkable 15-percentage-point increase since 2022, reflecting the district’s focused commitment to student support, innovative instruction, and college-and-career readiness.
Lakeland’s performance significantly outpaces statewide benchmarks. At 95.2%, the corporation’s graduation rate is 5% higher than the 2024 Indiana state average of 90.2%. Perhaps most notably, Lakeland has already exceeded the rigorous 95% graduation goal set by the Indiana Department of Education for the year 2030—hitting the target six years ahead of schedule.
"This achievement is a testament to the hard work of our students, the dedication of our educators, and the unwavering support of the Lakeland community," said Dr. Traci Blaize, Lakeland Superintendent. "To not only see this kind of growth in just two years but to also surpass the state’s 2030 goal today shows that Lakeland is providing our students with the foundation they need to succeed in whatever path they choose after high school."
The climb from 2022 to 2024 highlights the effectiveness of recent district initiatives aimed at keeping students engaged and on track for a diploma. By providing personalized pathways and robust academic interventions, Lakeland continues to close achievement gaps and ensure every student has the opportunity to walk across the stage!
