Three standout athletes from the Laker baseball program have officially committed to continue their academic and athletic careers at Glen Oaks Community College. Garrett Pieri, Levi Cook, and Dylan Bateman—all key contributors to the team’s recent success—signed their letters of intent to join the Vikings’ roster.
"These three young men represent the heart of our program," said the Laker coaching staff. "Glen Oaks is getting high-character players who know how to win and compete at the highest level."
Meet the Newest Vikings
Garrett Pieri: The Dominant Two-Way Force
Pieri heads to Glen Oaks decorated with NECC All-Conference, KPC All-Area, and KPC Co-Prep Player of the Year honors. A true dual-threat, Pieri dominated the mound with a flawless 6–0 record and a microscopic 1.24 ERA.
His prowess isn’t limited to the rubber; Pieri anchored the middle of the Laker order with a .468 batting average, 37 hits, and 38 RBIs. He carried that momentum into the summer with the Marucci Prospects, where he showcased elite control by striking out 23 batters while walking only five.
Levi Cook: Offensive Leader and Bullpen Weapon
Cook, a 2A All-State selection, brings a high-octane bat to the Glen Oaks lineup. After leading the Lakers with a .469 batting average and 46 hits (including 14 doubles), Cook proved to be one of the most reliable run producers in the region with 40 RBIs.
Beyond his offensive output, Cook served as a high-leverage weapon out of the bullpen. Recording four saves across 16 appearances, his ability to provide late-game stability makes him a versatile asset for the Vikings' pitching staff.
Dylan Bateman: Reliable Arm with Summer Surge
An NECC All-Conference and KPC All-Area Honorable Mention, Bateman has been a model of consistency. He posted a 5–1 record with a 2.41 ERA, proving he can thrive in big-game situations. At the plate, he contributed 28 hits and 19 runs.
Bateman’s stock rose significantly this past summer with the Marucci Prospects. He posted a .371 summer batting average and led his team on the mound with a 4-2 record and 25 strikeouts—a campaign highlighted by throwing two no-hitters.
