Zeke

Lakeland sophomore Zeke Jacobson has achieved a major musical milestone, securing a Silver Medal at the prestigious State Solo & Ensemble competition held on February 28th.

Competing against the top young musicians in the region, Zeke’s performance was particularly noteworthy for its technical difficulty and maturity. While most 10th-graders focus on standard high school repertoire, Zeke chose to perform college-level literature, a move that impressed judges and spectators alike.

A Rare Achievement

The State Solo & Ensemble competition is the pinnacle of the season for student musicians, requiring a rigorous qualification process. To earn a Silver Medal at the state level while performing advanced collegiate material is a feat rarely seen among underclassmen!

"To see a 10th-grader tackle music of this caliber is incredible," said Elizabeth Brumbaugh, Lakeland Jr/Sr High Band & Choir Director. "We are immensely proud of the hard work, discipline, and passion he poured into this performance."
