Our hearts go out to the family of Mr. Paul Johnston as they struggle with the loss of a very loved man. Mr. Johnston served as an assistant principal at Lakeland High School and as principal at Parkside Elementary. He also spent some time this past school year volunteering at Lakeland Primary. The staff remember him as a compassionate leader, who was tough because he cared. He will be missed by Laker Nation!

MDwise will host a vaccination event at the Howe Town Park on July 29th noon-2 pm. They will food, fun and school supplies available! See the flyer for details!

Congratulations Mrs. Whited, the LaGrange County Community Foundation Heart of Gold winner!

Lakeland School Corporation is working hard to offer expanded opportunities in Career and Technical Education through graduation pathways. We are adding a CDA program this Fall . We have partnered with Ivy Tech to make it a dual enrollment program, and Ambassador Enterprises has agreed to cover the tuition costs for any students involved. Students who complete this program will come out certified to work in child care and with college credits! We appreciate the work that Jenna Anderson with Thrive by 5 of LaGrange & Noble Counties has put in to help us make this happen!

The Salvation Army will have a mobile food pantry visiting July-October at different locations in LaGrange County. Please see the flyer for more information! Call 574-970-0088 with questions.

The Lakeland preschool program was very excited to receive a Build-Learn-Grow Stabilization Grant last year. The grant money was used to pay for the equipment and installation of beautiful outdoor learning centers at both campuses. Today the students at Wolcott Mills got to break in the new area. Looks like they like it! Playing is learning!
