Today Lakeland staff gathered at Jr/Sr High for a Walk-in in support of Public Education. You may see staff wearing Red and holding signs at LIS and LPS this afternoon too. We believe that the mission of public schools, to educate ALL students, is an important one. Over 90% of Indiana students attend public schools. Laker Nation is on a 2 hour delay today due to the winter conditions. Allow yourself a little extra drive time today. Many thanks to the county and state road crews, and our maintenance staff that were out early moving the snow!

All Lakeland schools will be doing ASYNCHRONOUS learning today! Lessons will be posted to Schoology by 10 am. Stay safe Lakers!

The band concert for 2-5-25 has been cancelled. Watch for a digital concert to be released on our website over the coming weeks!

We will have Synchronous learning today! Staff will report to their buildings at the regular time for PD; you will have planning time starting at 9. Students in Latchkey will need to be picked up by 10:30 am. Synchronous e-learning is a little different than what we did yesterday. Here's a brief rundown: A Synchronous Day includes live lesson times during the day through Google Meets.  The schedule for the day will be shared in Schoology. Jr/Sr High typically runs a 2 hour delay schedule for their Synchronous Days. Elementary teachers may vary on their times. If there is not a school device at home, it’s okay! Schoology can be accessed through any device by using our website. Go to www.lakelandlakers.org click on the "students tab" which is on the right side of the screen. Students can also access many other learning resources through their home devices. Go to www.lakelandlakers.org, these resources are available anytime, not just e-learning days! Students with unreliable or no internet access will be able to download the recorded classes when they return to school. They are expected to complete the work.

All Lakeland Schools will be doing Asynchronous Learning today! We have a few rooms that have not had the HVAC upgrade and they are not at temperatures I am comfortable having staff & students in all day. Asynchronous Learning means lessons will be posted in Schoology by 10 am, and live sessions are not required. Here's hoping the temperatures go up a bit today! ALL Lakeland Schools, including preschools, will be on a 2 hour delay on Wednesday 1-22-25. Staff should report at their usual Wednesday PD time. Latchkey will open at 6am. Families of K-6 students that are concerned about walking to school or waiting at bus stops could take advantage of the low cost program. A registration form is in the email notification of the delay.
